
Somatic Coaching
Soma is the Greek word for body. While traditional coaching engages with the mind, Somatic Coaching invites us into the body — our powerful ally and gateway to growth and thriving. Whatever thought, feeling, or sensation arises becomes a key element of the journey, often revealing one’s next steps in surprising and powerful ways.
What is Somatic Coaching?
Body-Oriented Coaching engages the intelligence of the mind as well as the deep intelligence of the body.
It draws on the schools of Somatic Psychotherapy, Gestalt, Focusing, Hakomi and incorporates the latest findings from Neuroscience, Embodied Cognition, Interpersonal Neurobiology and Polyvagal Theory.
Together, these perspectives shift us away from psychology’s traditional emphasis on the reflective mind and toward a fuller understanding of the human being as an integrated, intelligent whole.
Why it matters
In today’s world—especially in the workplace—most of us live primarily in our heads. While our intellect is a powerful tool that allows us to bring ideas into reality, over-reliance on it often leaves us feeling unbalanced.
By bringing the body into coaching, we open the door to experiencing more than what the thinking mind alone can access. We tap into the body’s wisdom, creating pathways to release old stories, frozen beliefs, and entrenched patterns of behavior.
How it works
This work can involve exploring posture, shape, movement, stillness, breath, and rhythm, as well as tuning into sensations, emotions, felt senses, and imagination.
In deeply reconnecting with the body, we reconnect with the fullness of who we are and awaken to the untapped resources our bodies hold—resources that support us in resting into a natural sense of freedom and belonging, sourced from within, as the foundation for how we show up in the world.

What does a session look like?
Each 1:1 session is a space of slowing down, curiosity, and presence. Together, we create an environment where everything you bring — thoughts, emotions, sensations — is welcomed with compassion and without judgment.
We begin by connecting to what’s alive for you in the moment — a challenge, a question, a longing. From there, I guide you in tuning into your body’s sensations, gestures, and impulses, allowing what’s beneath the surface to emerge.
As we follow these subtle threads, new insights, emotions, or images may arise. Together, we explore their meaning, follow the possibilities they allow for and what they reveal about your next steps.
You’ll leave each session with greater clarity, a sense of groundedness, and practical ways to continue integrating this awareness into your daily life.
This work is not about fixing, but about remembering — coming home to the intelligence already within you, and learning to move through life from that embodied wisdom.
